The Brooklyn via Los Angeles duo High Places have new album High Places vs. Mankind coming out on 23rd March 2010 on Thrill Jockey - the ‘Thrill’ is that it’s only a few weeks away, not too sure about what the Jockey is though.
The generous folks over at TJ have been in touch with a link to a free mp3 download to track 2 of the album, called On Giving Up.
In DT’s interview with High Places they spoke about using ‘real’ instruments on the new album, and even (whisper it) an 808. On Giving Up has a pulsating eroticism that suggests the new record could be something quite special - they’ve not abandoned their ethereality, just channeled it into something different.
